P47D_C1 FAB WWII (Academy 1/72)

A few people know that Brazilian troops fought shoulder to shoulder with the Allies in Italy against the Axis during World War II.
Even fewer know that Brazilian pilots formed a squadron, the 1st Brazilian Squadron attached to the 350FG.
They flew the powerful P47D Thunderbolts.
I've used the good Academy kit with FCM decals to represent a plane flown by Cap. Fortunato. He was the creator of the distinctive armed ostrich painted on the port side of the motor cowling.

Cheers!

BAe HAWK RAAF (Italeri 1/72)

Here are the photos for my RAAF Hawk.
The kit is the excellent Italeri in 1/72nd scale.
The kit represents the demonstration aircraft so I need to make some changes to depict a current model. The decals are from Aussie Decals and I had a really hard time trying to put them in place since they were cracking and falling to pieces, not happy at all!

All colours were Tamiya Acrylics.
Cheers

BF110C-4/B (Airfix 1/72)

BF 110 C-4/B

II/Schnellkampfgeschwader 210

Operation "Barbarossa", Eastern front, 1941

Hi all!
Here is my latest model. It is the new tooling BF110 from Airfix in 1/72. Very nice model and it was a pleasure to build it.
I was very impressed with the decals quality. Very well printed and react very well to the Micro SET/SOL solutions.

My plan was to represent this plane as seen in Russia (circa 1941/42).

And here is what I have made.

Thats all folks!

South Australia Air Museum - SAAM

South Australia Air Museum - SAAM

The home of the F111

Hi all! Here I am again with some aviation museum photos.
This time from the South Australia Air Museum, located in the Port Adelaide suburb it has a very interesting collection that I would like to share with you all.

I'll start with a curiosity. The below image is for the propeller from a Japanese Mitsubishi G4M "Betty" Bomber which was shot down by American Forces P38 Lightning over Boungainville on the 18th of April 1943. The most important is, that was the plane carrying Admiral Yamamoto (the Pearl Harbour attack architect). It was found by a South Australian, Warren Haydock in 1977 and later donated to SAAM.

The next photos are from the powerful Merlin engine from the Spitfire.

And the Spitfire MK-V Trop, with the distinguish nose air filter. This aircraft in privately owned but it is not in air-worth condition.

The following is for the Vampire, very handy if you're thinking about building the latest Airfix release. Please forgive me by the cockpit photos, but the plexiglass is too old and opaque.

And finally the F111.

That's all folks! Hope you've enjoyed!
Cheers
