Hauptsturmfuhrer Otto Skorzeny (1/16th Dragon)

Otto Skorzeny

Gran Sasso Raid, 1943

Hi all

Here is the latest model I've finished. It is a Dragon 1/16th figure representing hauptsturmfuhrer Otto Skorzeny who leaded a special team to rescue Benito Mussolini, Italian leader and Hitler Ally. Mussolini has been captured for rebels who wanted to bargain their change of side to the Allied troops.
Hitler decided that was important to keep Italy on his side or he would need to use good troops to defend the south part of his empire.
The task was given to Otto Skorzeny who landed in the peak with his troops using gliders. The Italians got so confused that Skorzeny took the place without shooting a single shot.
He got Mussolini inside a small plane (Storch) and made out to safety after a very risk take off.

This figure was finished using a mix of Tamiya and Vallejo acrilics.

This was a nice effort for me, after more than 8 years without painting a figure and I was very happy with the result.

Cheers!

ME 109E-4 Trop (Tamiya 1/72)

Bf 109E-4/ Trop 'Black 8', flown by Feldwebel Franz Elles, 8./JG 27, April 1941

(Tamiya 1/72)

Hi all!
Here is the latest addition to my collection, this little Tamiya gem in 1/72nd scale is a ME109E-4 Trop painted to represent the plane flown by Feldwebel Franz Elles, 8./JG27, Libya 1941.

Here are some photos:

In this model I had the opportunity to do a few things for the first time: First time I used my Harder & Steenbeck airbrush (awesome!), first time I used the Micro SET and Micro SOL for the decals and finally first time I have used Vallejo Matt Varnish (and I loved it!).

I consider this model the best airplane model I've done so far and I'm very pleased with the result.

Cheers and see you later mates!
