Spitfire MK Ia Battle of the Britain (No. 610 Squadron) Airfix 1/72

Hi all

Here is my latest model completed.
It is the Airfix 1/72 new tooling model.
It was a really good surprise to build this kit.
The level of detail is very good and the parts fit together nicely, well done Airfix!

My only comment is in regards the decal instructions, it was not very precise which decals should be on first because there were times where it was necessary. Good examples are the registration number on the fuselage (the Letter codes go on top of it) and the walk lines on the top of wings (in this case you need to position the lines first and once they are in the correct place then place the roundels in the gap between them).

I've used only Tamiya colours:
Interior:
Cockpit Green = XF5:1 + XF21:4 + XF65:1

External:
Underside = XF21

Camouflage:
Dark green = XF58:1 + XF62:5
Brown = XF52:1 + XF64:1

Tires = XF1:1 + XF62:1

Here are the photos!

That's all folks!

F6F-5 Hellcat (Eduard 1/72)

F6F-5 HELLCAT

1/72 Eduard ProfiPACK

Hi all

Here is my latest model finished.

The F6F-5 Hellcat was one of the most important US Navy fighters during World War II.

This model represents the White 7 'Paper Doll', flown by Lt. Carl A. Brown Jr., at VF-27, USS Princeton in October 24th, 1944.

Paper Doll was the personal plane of Lt. (jg) Robert Burnell. The distinctive sharkmouth markings used on earlier aircraft by the squadron appear here in a simpler form.

On October 24th, 1944, during the Battle of Leyte Gulf, Lt. Carl A. Brown intercepted a large formation of enemy aircraft at a time when the USS Princeton had suffered serious damage. During the interception, Lt. Brown was able to down five of the Japanese aircraft, but was, in the process, hit and injured. He landed on the USS Essex, as the Princeton was out of action. "Paper Doll" was pushed overboard to make room for other landing aircraft.

That's it!
Cheers mates!

Hauptsturmfuhrer Otto Skorzeny (1/16th Dragon)

Otto Skorzeny

Gran Sasso Raid, 1943

Hi all

Here is the latest model I've finished. It is a Dragon 1/16th figure representing hauptsturmfuhrer Otto Skorzeny who leaded a special team to rescue Benito Mussolini, Italian leader and Hitler Ally. Mussolini has been captured for rebels who wanted to bargain their change of side to the Allied troops.
Hitler decided that was important to keep Italy on his side or he would need to use good troops to defend the south part of his empire.
The task was given to Otto Skorzeny who landed in the peak with his troops using gliders. The Italians got so confused that Skorzeny took the place without shooting a single shot.
He got Mussolini inside a small plane (Storch) and made out to safety after a very risk take off.

This figure was finished using a mix of Tamiya and Vallejo acrilics.

This was a nice effort for me, after more than 8 years without painting a figure and I was very happy with the result.

Cheers!

ME 109E-4 Trop (Tamiya 1/72)

Bf 109E-4/ Trop 'Black 8', flown by Feldwebel Franz Elles, 8./JG 27, April 1941

(Tamiya 1/72)

Hi all!
Here is the latest addition to my collection, this little Tamiya gem in 1/72nd scale is a ME109E-4 Trop painted to represent the plane flown by Feldwebel Franz Elles, 8./JG27, Libya 1941.

Here are some photos:

In this model I had the opportunity to do a few things for the first time: First time I used my Harder & Steenbeck airbrush (awesome!), first time I used the Micro SET and Micro SOL for the decals and finally first time I have used Vallejo Matt Varnish (and I loved it!).

I consider this model the best airplane model I've done so far and I'm very pleased with the result.

Cheers and see you later mates!
